The charity was established in 1957 to support the hospital, its patients, staff and visitors by volunteering and raising funds to supplement the services provided by the NHS.

Benjamin Hyde Memorial Trust (www.lancecorporalbenhydetrust.org.uk)

The Lance Corporal Ben Hyde Memorial Trust was founded in March 2005 in memory of Ben Hyde who was one of six Royal Military Policemen killed on 24th June 2003 in Southern Iraq.
